Responsible persons who wish to carry out their own fire risk assessment, or are appointed to assist with this duty. It is particularly useful for business owners, managers and supervisors, but will benefit anyone contributing to the fire risk assessment process.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) requires that the responsible person makes a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to which relevant persons (employees, customers, visitors etc.) are exposed. This is to ensure proper identification of the fire precautions needed to comply with the order, including ‘preventative and protective’ control measures.
