Employees who hope to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking specific fire safety roles in the workplace, e.g. as fire wardens/fire marshals.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) requires the responsible person to appoint and provide adequate training for one or more ‘competent persons’ to assist with fire safety in the workplace.
This must include suitable and sufficient instruction on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by employees to safeguard themselves and others on the premises.
